Validation

Everyone needs to be validated. Some how, some way we're all looking for it. (See Mazlow) Whether it be a child wanting validation from a parent or an employee from their employer we all want to know that we count for something; that we add value; that we matter.

One of the best ways I know to validate others is to listen to them. Today I practiced this well. Other ways to validate others is to smile and say hello or say 'you look nice today'. It's very simple. But why read any further when you can see validation in action through the beautiful and touching short film Validation. It demonstrated the power of validating others and how contagious it becomes when one passes it on to someone else. It also shows what happens when...well, go ahead, watch the film.
